Hemp is a natural product that signals a future of materials with less impact on the environment. By moving away from petroleum based products and looking to hemp, we can begin to lessen the toll of traditional building materials on our planet. Coexist and Amerchavre's Hemp House on Wheels highlights the possibilities of hemp in the built environment. Lead architect and designer at Coexist Build, Anastasiya Konopitskaya, designed the structure as a way to showcase the material and its adaptability into modern design. It is hempcrete's performance, versatility, and low impact on the environment, that sets it apart from other well known sustainable building methods. Exhibit boards designed by Cohere with input from key leaders in the PA and the National Hemp Council display how hemp has been used historically, its uses today, and the seemingly unlimited future of hemp!
